The Cananga tree is a member of the custard apple family and is indigenous to the Philippines and Indonesia. It belongs to the same family as YlangYlang, which is found in areas such as Madagascar and Comoros. The flowers from Cananga Odorata are used for personal adornment and decoration at festivities by Malaysians and Indonesians. The flowers are also strewn upon the bed of newlyweds in Indonesia.
Our Canaga Odorata essential oil has a sweet, exotic and floral scent and can bring about feelings of euphoria. It can also help with cases of insomnia, anxiety and stress, and is commonly used as an aphrodisiac as well. Caution must be exercised when using this oil however, as some individuals can experience sensitivity and the essential oil may trigger headaches and/or nausea.
